• What imaging services do you offer?
  Our services include:

  • X-Ray
  • Ultrasound- General, Obstetric, Vascular and Musculoskeletal
  • Echocardiography
  • Bone Mineral Densitometry
  • Mammography – Routine screening (OBSP) and diagnostic
  • Nuclear Medicine
  • Nuclear Cardiac
  • Immigration Chest X-Ray (not covered by OHIP)
• What are the OHIP guidelines for ordering examinations?
  Physicians must have a billing/provider number registered with OHIP. We need a duly completed requisition with a signature and relevant clinical information before we can proceed with the examination.
• What are the OHIP guidelines for ordering BMD examinations?
  OHIP covers one baseline study per patient in their lifetime. For high risk patients, subsequent examination can be ordered every 12 months unless you have obtained written authorization from OHIP medical consultant. Second subsequent examination for low risk patients can be ordered after 36 months. Third and every subsequent examination for low risk patients can be ordered after 60 months. • How soon will I receive a report?
  We have a Radiologist reporting studies on site or remotely every business day. For routine examinations a report is sent within 1-2 business days. For urgent and/or verbal reports, a report is sent out same day and could be as soon as within an hour of the examination being done, depending on the urgency.
• Is there a Radiologist available for consultation?
  We have 2-3 Radiologists available on site at 2 of clinics everyday and they will be happy to discuss any of your patients. Alternatively you can always reach the Radiologist by phone. Given the nature of their work there may be times they may be busy at the time of your call but will be able to return your call within the day.
• Will the Radiologist be comparing to previous studies?
  For patients with previous history with us all studies are compared to their previouses. All our clinics are digitally connected and previouses done at any of our clinics are available. Where previouses were done at North York General Hospital, Leslie or Branson, our Radiologists are able to access these images since they are the same group that provides Radiology services at the hospital. However, inorder for this to be done, you need to indicate this on the requisition very clearly. Where previouses were done at any other hospital or clinic, we would require these to be made available to us in any media- film or CD.

• What do I need to come in with?
  You need to bring a valid OHIP card and a requisition from your doctor for all examinations except for a routine OBSP mammogram screening examination. Where you do not have a valid OHIP card or are a Non- Resident you are expected to pay cash. We do not accept debit or credit cards.
• Do I need an appointment?
  You do not require an appointment for an X-Ray. These are done as a walk-in. All other examinations are by appointment only. It is advisable to call during office hours and schedule your appointment. If the receptionists are busy you can leave a message and we will call you back.
• Do I need to bring prior films/images for my appointment?
  If you are coming for a mammogram, it is very important to bring any prior films with you to your appointment. It is necessary for the Radiologist to compare your current mammogram to the previous and detect any changes.
• How soon will my doctor get the results of the examination?
  Routine reports are sent to your doctor within 1-2 days. For urgent studies, reports are sent out same day.
• Who will be conducting the study?
  An appropriately qualified and registered technologist will be performing the examination. The technologist conducting the study is not permitted to provide you with any findings even preliminary. Please refrain from asking the technologist. The technologist may decide to call a Radiologist to assist with the examination, this is more likely for Ultrasound. A Radiologist reviews the images and provides a report to your doctor.
• Do you provide images for a Specialist review?
  In some cases where you are seeing a specialist and need to take a copy of the images, the CD is provided to you at no charge. However if you need a personal copy, there is a charge for the CD. You are advised to give us 24 hours notice when you need to collect a CD or film.
